Storage:

active substances: 1 tablet contains pancreatin with an enzymatic activity of at least 8000 lipolytic units of Ph. Eur., 5600 amylolytic units Ph. Eur., 370 proteolytic units Ph. Eur.;

auxiliary substances: sodium chloride, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, crospovidone, croscarmellose sodium, povidone 25, magnesium stearate, methacrylate copolymer dispersion, talc, propylene glycol, titanium dioxide (E 171), carmoisin (E 122).

Pharmaceutical form. Tablets are gastroresistant.

Main physico-chemical properties: tablets of round shape, covered with a shell, pink in color, with a weak specific smell, the upper and lower surfaces of which are convex. A core surrounded by one solid layer can be seen on the crack under a magnifying glass.

Polyenzyme preparation. Pancreatic enzymes (lipase, amylase and protease), which are included in its composition, facilitate the digestion of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins, which contributes to their complete absorption in the small intestine. In diseases of the pancreas, the drug compensates for the insufficiency of its exocrine function and helps to improve the digestion process.

Pharmacokinetics.

The film covering the tablets does not dissolve under the action of gastric juice and protects enzymes from their inactivation by gastric juice. Only under the influence of a neutral or slightly alkaline environment of the small intestine, the membrane dissolves and enzymes are released.

Diseases that are accompanied by a violation of the process of digestion of food due to insufficient secretion of digestive enzymes by the pancreas, such as chronic pancreatitis.

Contraindication.

With the simultaneous use of pancreatin with iron preparations, it is possible to reduce the absorption of the latter.

Folic acid. Absorption of folic acid may be reduced in patients taking pancreatic enzyme preparations, so monitoring of folic acid levels is recommended during concomitant use.

Acarbose, miglitol. It is possible that pancreatic enzyme preparations can reduce the effect of these antidiabetic agents. Therefore, during concomitant treatment with pancreatin, it is recommended to monitor the effect of antidiabetic agents on the patient’s blood sugar level.

Features of application.

Intestinal obstruction – in the presence of symptoms reminiscent of this condition, it is necessary to remember the possibility of intestinal strictures. It is recommended to monitor all unusual symptoms, especially when taking more than 10,000 lipase units/kg/day.

There is a theoretical risk of transmission of viral infections in pigs, including infections caused by new or unknown viruses. The presence of swine viruses that can infect humans cannot be completely ruled out. However, not a single case of transmission of an infectious disease due to the use of porcine pancreatin preparations has been registered so far.

The drug contains active enzymes that can damage the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, so the tablets should be swallowed whole, without chewing.

The drug should be used with caution in patients with renal failure, hyperuricemia, and patients with an allergy to proteins of pig origin.

This medicinal product contains 0.024 mmol (or 0.55 mg)/dose of sodium. Caution should be used in patients on a sodium-controlled diet.
