Storage:

active substance: clotrimazole;

1 g of ointment contains clotrimazole (calculated as 100% dry matter) 10 mg;

auxiliary substances: propylene glycol, polyethylene glycol 400, poloxamer 338, cetostearyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol cetostearyl ether.

Medicinal form. Ointment.

Main physico-chemical properties: white ointment, homogeneous consistency with a weak specific smell.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antifungal drugs for local use. Imidazole and triazole derivatives. Clotrimazole
Indication.

§ Fungal skin infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, molds and other pathogens sensitive to clotrimazole.

§ Skin infections caused by Malassezia furfur (ringworm) and Corynebacterium minutissimum (erythrasma).

Contraindication.

Hypersensitivity to clotrimazole, cetostearyl alcohol or other components of the drug.

Do not use to treat nail or scalp infections.
Method of application and dosage.

Before applying the ointment, it is necessary to clean (using soap with a neutral pH value) and thoroughly dry the affected areas of the skin; feet should be washed with warm water and soap, rub the ointment thoroughly, especially between the toes.

Apply the drug in a thin layer 1-3 times a day on the affected areas of the skin and rub lightly, grasping a small area of the skin around the lesion. A single dose based on a surface area the size of a palm is a column of ointment 5 mm long.

The total duration of treatment is:

dermatomycosis – 3-4 weeks;

erythrasma – 2-4 weeks;

variegated lichen – 1-3 weeks.

If you missed the next application, you should apply the drug as soon as you remember, but it is better to skip the application if it is almost time for the next application of the drug.

Depending on the nature and severity of the disease, the doctor can prescribe an individual dosage regimen and method of drug use, as well as the duration of treatment.

For reliable removal of the pathogen and depending on the symptoms, treatment should be continued for approximately 2 weeks after the disappearance of subjective symptoms.

The patient should consult a doctor for repeated microbiological examination and correction of therapy in the absence of clinical improvement 4 weeks after the start of treatment.

Children.

There is no experience of using the drug in children.

Overdose.

If the drug is used as indicated in the “Method of administration and dosage” section, only an extremely small amount of the active substance (clotrimazole) will be absorbed by the body. Thus, there is no possibility that systemic effects (action on other organs) may occur.

Accidental ingestion of a large amount of the drug may cause dizziness, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and liver dysfunction.

Treatment: stop using the drug, wash the stomach, if necessary, carry out symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions.

Immune system: allergic reactions, including anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reactions (anaphylactic shock, angioedema, fainting, hypotension, shortness of breath, and urticaria).

Skin and subcutaneous tissue: redness (erythema), blistering, peeling, burning/heat, tingling, local swelling, itching, rash, general irritation, pain/discomfort, dryness, allergic contact dermatitis.

With increased sensitivity to cetostearyl alcohol and propylene glycol, allergic reactions on the skin may occur.

The appearance of these symptoms requires discontinuation of drug treatment.

Expiration date. 2 years.
