Ayurveda, an ancient system of conscious and healthy living, originated in India more than five thousand years ago. In the West, where it was first introduced in the late 1960s, it is often referred to as the science of life (Ayur = life, Veda = science or doctrine). In 1969, Yogi Bhajan, a Kundalini Yoga master and inspiring teacher of Ayurveda and a holistic approach to life, began teaching yoga in the West. He shared his wisdom, knowledge of healthy living, and the benefits of selected herbs and spices with his students while serving them a soothing, fragrant, spiced tea that his students affectionately called Yogi Tea. You can still find the same inspiration in every cup of YOGI TEA® today.
